A quick message first for my Next Sale buddies... you know who you are... can you believe it? I did not even get a VIP invitation! I am sooooooooo cross!!!!! Good job I am not up to ordering anything this year! So you will all have Melvin to yourselves.... until the summer sale of course....!
Doesn't Emma look amazing?! Standing up by the Christmas Tree in the ward! Today her drain came out which she really was dreading. She was so brave and admitted it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. She also had an ultrasound to check a couple of things. Bit scary for me and Al but very happily all still looking good. It was incredibly strange looking at my kidney pumping away inside her. The GOSH team are simply brilliant.
My bandages came off. Poor Grandpa had to inspect my wounds as I couldn't look! He promises me they look fine. I am back at Guys in 3 weeks for a check-up.
So tomorrow my Gorgeous Greg and Magnificent Meg come to stay for a few days. We have moved in to the 'Italian Wing'. No marble to be seen but there is a pizzeria along the road which may be quite nice!! They are all packed and Nanny and Grandad will bring them by train along with my long list of things we have forgotten. That could be one fun journey!!
Until tomorrow.... Katy
PS Thanks for all the comments, I so love reading them.
Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteBTW- what is it with you and stripes on this blog Katy? You seem to be wearing them in all the pics (except those in your fetching surgical gown!)
Are you developing a fetish or are they your lucky charm? ;)
It is really horrible in St Neots, the roads are horrendously icy with no gritting, so you keep snug in the Italian Wing, it does sound rather swish.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing to see Emma looking so well after just one week, I hope you carry on getting better day on day.
And Katy I hope the taste for chocolate comes back soon!
Ann
What a fantastic picture - you both look amazing! And well done Emma for being so brave when they took your drain out - you really are a superstar! I'm so glad for you all that Greg and Meggie are able to come up and stay for a few days - bet you cant wait to see them. It's good that your wounds are looking ok and that everything generally sounds as if its all going well. Can't believe you've gone off chocolate! I'm sure that wont last! Hope you got to kip in the bed next to Emma, Al. You're all amazing. Keep strong and enjoy your time all together.
ReplyDeleteAs ever, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Much love,
Pippa, Gary and the boys.xxxxxx
You both look absolutely wonderful and we are so looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Emma well done and pleased to see the nightie fits! Nighties in December were a bit of a challenge. Its all fleecy pjs.
ReplyDeleteMeggie and Greg were in bed after baths and books and asleep by 8 which is pretty amazing. They know they are going to see you all tomorrow and, of course, cant wait.
Glad we had the cheesey rice today. Pasta tomorrow!
Christmas sacks full of love and big hugs
Mum and Dad Grandad and Nanny
Well ladies, you look more stunning than either of you have a right to only one week after major surgery...I've seen worse in the playground on a school morning...and that's just me.
ReplyDeleteAm sorry that it more up and down than just up, but as long as each days ups are more up than the day befores downs, and then the following days downs are more up than the day before the day befores downs, then your downs will be more up and inversly your ups will be......... I think I've lost the plot....am giving up on that I think... or should that be down.
On that theme: What's green and goes up and down? A gooseberry in a lift. (they get worse...it may seem hard to believe but they do)
So pleased to hear the family will be together tomorrow. That will be a fab day. Are they staying down till Christmas in the exceedingly exclusive and up market 'Italian wing', stocked full with little pyramids of Ferrero rocher?
You not missing anything up here...they shut Emmaus, snow I think, so you you can rest easy that you not missing any pre christmas bargins.
Enough rambling. Our love and prayers are with you all, Roz and the Gray gang.
What a lovely picture, its so good to see you both looking great and well done Emma for being so brave We have been thinking about you all and Ozlem also sends you her good wishes. It will be lovely for you to have Greg and Meggie with you at last. Hope Alistair is managing to get some sleep. Keep warm and cosy the weather is awful here its very icy tonight and the pavements are very slippery and some of the side roads.

ReplyDeleteI did not get a NEXT VIP slot either :( Did get a tip off from a friend that if you log into your account it offers you one!" I did this and have just completed a quick shop - that said with no patience this morning it was not quite as fruitful as it has been in the past!
Give my love to Meggie and Greg when they arrive today, I bet they will be so excitred to see you all.

Hiya, Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed reading your blog and to see and read how well you are both (all) doing. It's amazing and great that you can share your stories, news and excitement with us. It's amusing to learn that Al is having to sleep in an arm chair - I hope he has flowery eye shades and a nice velour dressing gown.
ReplyDeleteAnn brought a copy of SHE into the office for us all to read.....we want a signed copy for the office wall.....everyone here is thinking of you.
Wish I'd been there for Emma shouting at the Carol singers!!! That story made me laugh a lot!
Best wishes to you all...speedy recoveries all round, deep sleep for Al and happy travelling and fun with grandparents to Greg and Meggie.
Malcolm
