Drain bag lady!

When Emma was still attached to a drain following the transplant she had to carry it in a rather unattractive brown stripy cloth bag held together by a bandage. I then had a brainwave to ask nanny if she wouldn't mind making the ward some new ones. She was more than happy to help and after about a week 25 had been made in a range of beautiful bright materials- from red london buses to glittery fairies. We are really looking forward to taking them up to the ward tomorrow. Thank you so much Nanny/Mum.
Off to hospital tomorrow. They are looking very closely at one of her levels which is a bit erratic. They have told me not to worry- its just them tweeking (again) and making it all perfect for her. I have been given instructions just to worry about being her Mummy!! I have been told!!
Saw Meggies teacher after school today and was so happy to hear how settled she is at school. I feel sad that this has all happened during her first year but she couldn't have been looked after any better. Thank you Oakley Lower your support has been incredible.
And.... I went out last night to the cinema. A lovely evening. And.... the beading ladies were happily reunited this morning. Not much beading done but lots of chatting and chocolate biscuits eaten. I so like being normal.... hope it continues!

  2. Its good to give something back to that wonderful hospital, however small the contribution might be.
Thanks to Helen Coverley, a tutor at Tudor Rose, who gave me some lovely remnants from her charity stash of fabrics which I used to make some of the bags.
Love and hugs to my girls, as always.
